Hello,

My name is Fallon Morris and I grew up in Baldwinsville, NY. I still live in Baldwinsville and love the cute town it has to offer. I taught at an Oswego,NY elementary school last year where I taught 4th grade. This year I decided to teach closer to home. I accepted a job 15 minutes away at a tiny school called Cato-Meridian. This was such a difference from my last school. They start in Pre-K with one another and go all the way up to senior year with the same kids (There is only one elementary school). I have been teaching for two years so I am still learning the ins and outs of teaching. I have an extremely difficult class this year where I have anger aggression kids as well as 8:1:1 kids that push into my room for science, social studies, and ELA.

I received my bachelors from Keuka College where I was dual certified in both General Education and Special Education. My college was very tiny BUT it was on a really beautiful lake. I played soccer in college which allowed me to make many friends. When we could move off campus I rented a house on the water with a water slide! I have one older sister who has two children... my niece Mila and my nephew Grant. They keep all of us busy! I try to go see them 3-4 times a week as I am a huge family person. I also coach soccer on Mondays and Tuesdays to 3-8 year olds.

I am excited for New Media and New Literacies because my school is really pushing us teachers to meet the new media standards. We have a 1:1 Chromebook service at our school which allows students to all have their own personal devices. I am hoping this course will give me some ideas of how I can incorporate media into our every day learning. The use of Internet and media, even in 5th grade, is astronomical in comparison to when I was in 5th. I am hoping I can also influence proper and appropriate use of media to my students.
